The meeting with experts of the World Bank was held in the Accounts Committee

The meeting was held within preparation of the Public Finance Review for the Republic of Kazakhstan by the experts of the World Bank.
The Member of the Accounts Committee Aigul Mukhametkarim informed the participants about new developments in the public audit and financial control system of Kazakhstan due to adoption of the Law «On Public Audit and Financial Control».
She told about the main objectives and functions of the public audit and financial control bodies, additional powers of the Accounts Committee, peculiarities of activities planning of public audit and financial control bodies, preparation and submission to the Parliament of the annual report of the Accounts Committee on Execution of the Republican Budget - Conclusion to the Government’s Report.  
The new function of the Accounts Committee – preliminary assessment of the draft national budget which will be realized this year, its aims and deadlines for its conduction were discussed in detail.
It was noted, that within the framework of transition to public audit the emphasis of the Accounts Committee’s activities has shifted from detection of violations to deep investigation of their causes and development of constructive recommendations for their prevention in the future.
Special attention was paid to the main problems of republican budget execution, including ineffective use of budget funds, their non-use by the administrators of budget programs and quasi-public sector entities.
Following the meeting the parties expressed their readiness for further cooperation to enhance efficiency of budget funds use and to prevent financial violations.
The World Bank is an international financial organization that was established in 1944 for the purpose of providing financial and technical assistance to developing countries around the world.
