During February 20-22 a specialists of the Accounts Committee took part in a seminar on the topic "The Importance of Qualitative Indicators in the Practice of Evaluating the Efficiency of Supreme Public Audit (Control) Institutions” in Baku (the Republic of Azerbaijan)

Representatives of the Supreme Public Audit (Control) Institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation also participated in the seminar in accordance with the Work Plan of the Council of Heads of the SAIs of CIS states-members for the period between the XVII and XVIII sessions.

During the seminar, the indicators and criteria measured the level of achieved results used in the effectiveness of the activities of the Supreme Public Audit (Control) Institutions assessment were discussed.

The interest of participants had been evoked by Kazakhstan experience in quality control of audit activities of the Accounts Committee, evaluation of the activities of public audit and financial control institutions, as well as the development of an appropriate legal framework in this area.

The parties agreed to continue the exchange of experience and to expand cooperation on these issues.

The Council of Heads of Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) of the state-members of the Commonwealth of Independent States was established in 2000 to provide organizational support for cooperation between SAIs of the CIS state-members, coordinate their interaction and exchange their work experience.
